Please No More My Love

A deeply emotional or "emo" love poem meant to have different directions to guess inside of the path it offers....

The only boy to see my weakness….

The only one allowed inside

These walls of stony crumbled past

These walls you scaled- then built To Last.

 

Slowly, sweetly, quite subdued

Fell in love all sticky glued

Wanting nothing more than bliss

And nothing less than that first kiss

Then more and more….

 

Kept me in my place you did

Fortified my walls, Then hid

Away from me

enchanted charm

Did nothing real

But cause me harm

More and more

then leave again

When did I deserve your sin?

 

Flights of stairs I built up steady

Fixing to sound war when ready

Climbed the top to seize control

Our battlefield was taking toll

 

Thought from time to time I’d leap

Through promises you’d never keep

You were once my sounding board

Before the anger even scored

 

Created monster of nil relief

Filled my moat with tears of grief

Until I could not find the door

To true escape no more, no more

 

Sunshine down hid in the shadow

Where did Love think it could go?

Not many reasons for it to stay

Just one to keep it real I’d say

And then I’d pray for more….

No more, no more.

 

Your presence lifted me up high

Your presents made me want to cry

Rare gifts of guilt, anxiety

Left me often, fittingly

 

I beg you love for mercy more

You just won’t quit, you’re so hardcore.

You just won’t die

When will this end?

My love, my life, my soul-mate friend

Forevermore, please, no more.

Author's Note

Has dual meanings in many intended lines, a slow read, varied rhythm, with overal "emo" tones. Ahhh love, that wretched bond. Both sides of the story are real and like they say, you can't live with it, you can't live without it.
