Two Souls Lost In The Dark

What it feels like to be away from the one you love each night....each and every night!

The day was long
the night was bare
it only warmed when
 I dreamed you there
and moments when
the wind blew cold
my heart would melt
from the days ago
when I laid with you there
when life had not a care
inside those moments
the ones that count
during the times
when I found out
what Love really was.
And that is just because
you taught me how
to seize the "now"
to hold today
in such a way
that nothing else would matter.
so no great force could shatter
what there we held
and yes, beheld
the dawn of new life's joy
that no bomb could deploy
it's wretched force
against our worthy course
called Love
called Us
called where I want to live and thus
it's where I wish to be
on this dark night with thee.
Inside the arms that carry me
beyond this place of sleep
it is the place i keep
inside my heart so deep
