Smile

Smile

A Poem by Andrew C

I wish I could smile more

So I could lie more

So they’d think I’m happy

So they won’t feel sorry for me

Or dig into the truth

And open the scars previously closed

So I pray for smiles day and night

To hide the truth

I know how that feels. When I'm down or low, I always try to hide it by a smile, but sometimes it's good to let the pain show, so someone can talk to you about it and hopefully you'll feel better about it. Great writing and keep writing!

This poem speaks volume of a sorrowful past, and perhaps present, a wayward soul, lost, and wanting to hide the inner depths of his woe. Its an emotional piece and well done.
