Dream Despair

Dream Despair

A Poem by JetMardium

8/2/2016 with thoughts of a friend in a troubled place Here's to you LP

"
Sometimes in my dreams I see a figure in the distance
Its a beacon of light, dim, but shining nonetheless
As I approach this figure, standing alone in a field
It reveals itself to be a person, an angel, fallen among men
The landscape is barren, the sky pitch black
Her face white and flickering, this light within dimming
As I drew closer, the ground began to quake
The earth beneath our feet, shattered
Bottomless pits, brimstone and lava
As up from the flames rose, creatures of sick intent
They attack this angel, they begin enveloping her
I hear the screams, I hear the cries
I see them feast, while shes still alive
The screams stop, and the creatures recede
The darkness having consumed, all the light of the fallen angel-kin
I fall powerless, at the mercy of this madness
Then I see it, I just barely catch the glimmer of light
The smallest glimmer, twinkled in her eye
Then I thought, what if we could all still be saved
