Trolls and Billy Goat's Gruff both used to scare me when I was a kid. I live where are lots of bridges, even covered ones, so the idea of some troll...never mind...it still scares me now. Glad you found love, hopefully he's not really a troll though.

This is fabulous!
We don't always know what's lurking,
under what we perceive as safe.
I've experienced this repeatedly through life..
Perceived one thing, reality brought me another...
You'd think I'd select another bridge by now, eh?! lol

Love the metaphor...

Excellent!

this's a great poem- it has the meter of a fairy tale whims.. classic limericks- at the same time derived with
a metaphorical intention in mind- which in turn draws the reader to ponder- at the same time carries

a childhood warning in mind.. watch where you walk..beware of strangers..the troll under the bridge-
waiting for unsuspecting people to walk by..the title brings the writing into frontal view in ths regards..

to me the troll represnts the opposite in a relationship- the troll breaking the heart of the lover
and causing the time it takes to get over a broken heart to be filled with misery.. flowery and dark..

I enjoyed this, short but with a great message... we love someone for what's inside not what they look like. Bravo!!

Love is much like that...isn't it? Did I say the right thing...did I do the right thing....will he understand what I meant instead of the menial words that came out? Then one day you realize the edge has disappeared and you are walking on flat, safe, and comforting ground. The troll has gone and a romance has begun.

I LOVE THIS. It's amazing. o= I love the fantasyesque inclusion of the troll under the bridge, and the metaphor to falling in love! That's really great & original. The rhyme is flawless as well. (: You are very talented!!!

I like your suspension of disbelief. Magic things grow there.
