DETERMINATION

tells the story of a girl who despite all odds never gave up and at last she lives to tell her success story.

my name is Kemi. i hail from Osun state, and am from a family of six which includes my parents and three siblings.
growing up as the first born of my poor family was not an easy one. at a tender age i had to look for means of supporting my family. at class two, i started selling watery milk which i poured in my baby sis empty medicine bottle.
i wrote notes for my classmates and i was paid a token for that.
Saving was the order of the day, i trekked long distances just to make sure i saved money to support my family, i also starved which resulted to ulcer but still i still kept on starving myself.
we hardly had anything to eat, we would soak garri for about three hours so that it would be enough to feed the whole family.
we missed chaff with our food so as to make it plenty. rice was only eaten on Christmas days. in spite of all this i never stopped believing i was created for greatness, though my classmates do mock me whenever they are eating jollofrice and meat and myself pap but i do tell them"my future is bright" even though it was not obvious.
my parents could not boast of buying me any of my clothes since the clothes i and my siblings do put on where given To us by family and friends. it was the worst life one could ever imagine.
But today i stand tall, i and my family can afford traveling to any country of our choice. i never gave up, i did not let where i was coming from be my destination. i was determined. i worked towards greatness and God saw me through.
