The Love Story of a Lifetime..... Between Jesus and the Broken Heart

Friends and lovers come and go like the seasons

To blossom friendship anew, and feelings of love and happiness

Only to fade away one-by-one; petal-by-petal

It's as if a thousand years go by... 

 and as each year leaves so does a "friend" so does a "lover"... 

they leave you so broken

 As they take a piece of your heart with them, only to replace it with a scar

They leave you to fill in the scars and replace missing pieces with tears, and hurt

It's as if a thousand years go by... 

 and the tears slowly heal the broken pieces, only to leaves scars unmended inside

Slowly your heart begins to hurt again and you feel the scars you had only hidden

Until the pain is so unbearable your heart begins to feel as if it will...

burst

As you watch each piece fall to the floor, you notice one walking up to you

This one person you never cared much for, yet was always there

It's as if a thousand years go by... 

He slowly picks up the pieces, one by one and as he holds your heart

It gradually begins to mend, and you feel as if time has stopped

You hold your breath as He replaces your heart 

As it's being placed you don't feel the same, and for the first time in years you feel...

Loved 

You walk with Him as he tells you "I love you," and how he always tried to tell you

But you never gave him the time or day until now, how he loved you and always will

Even if you stop loving him, 

It's as if a thousand years go by...

And you're now filling more empty spaces and healing more scars with your tears

As you wonder where is He? The one who loved you and made you feel better

You get angry with Him, and decide to forget all about Him

"He's just like all the others," you think to yourself

Then He shows up again when your out of hope, and mends a broken heart

He knows what you thought about him and instead of leaving you like the others

He simply embraces you, to love you and to hold you, 

It's as if a thousand years go by...

And He's not there anymore, but you know that one day He'll return to you

But after a while He doesn't return, And you worry he'll never come back

You almost lose all hope in him,

 but not completely because you still believe He can return

And one day as your hope fades, he does return 

but this time to carry you off on his White horse

To his kingdom, Where you'll live side-by-side and you'll never feel despair

And it's as if a thousand years go by...

And he has never left your side
