Will I Be Free?A Poem by JesterA beautiful bird sits In a golden cage, And sings his sweet song To the heavens. And he wonders: “Will I ever be free?” A wolf prowls his entrapment, And howls a long note, Full of sadness and longing, At the moon. And he wonders: “Will I ever be free?” A young girl sits in the darkness, And sings in a language That not even she knows, The long forgotten language of the stars. And she wonders: “Will I ever be free?” © 2008 JesterReviews
