We(re)solvedA Poem by Katie Foutz Vossdistances.Broad hands pushed the wave back and forth. Supported upon the shore like interlocking fingers of sand, palms made of broken down treasure. And to you and to me and to those inside the storm it seemed the greatest current ever built by ocean architect, stretching sea to sea, heart to heart. But to the one whose hands held that squalling water it was an inconsequential disturbance in an inoffensive puddle. The distance was not so far. © 2010 Katie Foutz Voss |
