It's a look out this window you're taking
one last time, don't miss a thing,
don't blink or you might lose the chance
to see what everything beautiful envies.

 

Feel the heat on your face and smile
for the winter has gone and this season
might last while, thanks all given
to that greater artist, for the undeserved
kindness, second chance; we call it Grace.

 

And some might look and watch just a sky,
say it's just another light, another color,
but you've seen the darkness, kissed it brokenly
and have known the coldness of its affections.
This is more than just a window with a sunset,
it's the first look at a new life.
