EpilogueA Chapter by Katie Foutz VossI write this part of the story on my journey to We’ve been on the road for about five hours now. Lucas and his parents left a week ago. It’s hot, and miserable. We’re taking a bus this year and the air conditioning works poorly, if ever. But I have to say that I am in a much better place this year. My heart doesn’t hurt quiet as deeply. I’m listening to the right Voice, seeing with the right eyes. I’m seeing the lights, still. And I cannot forget the power of conflict, of collisions in the dark. © 2008 Katie Foutz Voss |
