Swear you care

Swear you care

A Poem by jesswrecks

Lost and forgotten

I must’ve seemed

Speaking of this

We reminisce

Red truck, pick me up

Forget me not, long walks

Parking lots, discuss

Number saved, you say

Sweetly, “can I hold you?”

Windows, left open

Four am, somewhere

Some street, some Summer

How many full moons

Had we seen

Before you asked

First kiss, boils over

Sunday morning, sunrise

Fall asleep, the taste of you

Upon these lips

Dressed in black

Brown eyes, clever smile

Pass by, time away

Something creeps

Into our veins, begging

Smoother me with kisses

White dress, turned red

Muffled whisper - "love you so"

Voices say, it's a game

Don't mean a thing

Have you ever played fair,

Turn 'round, tilt your hat

Swear you care, care, care

I remember, nice dream

Yet, no guarantees

Fix my strap, twist

And shout, run ahead now
