I Miss You

I Miss You

A Poem by Jessica Gillitzer
"

Sometimes no matter how hard you try or right something feels it doesn't mean it works out that way. Life has a way of playing the odds against you and winning. Mood music at the bottom... hit play

"
I miss you
Though you never actually left somehow you're just not here
Losing you while you stand before me is my biggest fear
Your voice now seems like echoes and your touch a place quickly growing colder
So little time we've had, how are we dying before even growing older
I miss you so much
You sit across from me yet you're no where near
Our perfect painting touched too soon and became a smear
You used to look at me like the last flower in a burning meadow
But you could not or would not save me, now my ash is a shadow
I miss you not missing me
I can be right here in front of you but you stare to the things that glimmer
I feel the worst that I couldn't be  your everything and all that shimmers
How can you be beside your soulmate yet ever so alone
The way you don't look my way anymore cuts to the bone
I miss us
Who we were and who we have become are two entirely different things
I joined to my missing puzzle piece, and it tearing away burns and stings
All our tears and all this rust, just know I will forever miss us
