Would You Hold MeA Poem by Jessica Gillitzer
Hold me
Tell me you can really see That though my tears never flow You understand from where they came and now where I'll go Understand I can't let it out I can't break again to make it something we can talk about I'm paralyzed in fear of a past still too present And I'm scared of a future I might live to resent Hold me Help me dream of what we could be These memories are stains on my favorite dress Symbolism of the life that became a mess Truth is I can't slip out of this and have eyes upon me My naked truths aren't the same as the scars you'll see I am scared of a life of memories I can't forget I am ashamed of choices that aren't mine to regret Hold me Show me how to forget the misery You can't repair the damage that's been done But you can sit with me through the night and wait for the sun I hold to this dream that tomorrow won't be another yesterday But my yesterday's are always monsters of today I still can't slay Will you stay if the dream is never a reality Can you love me if my truth had to be another fallacy Hold me No words... Just hold me... please
