Someone else's arms...A Poem by Jessica GillitzerNo one such choose to endure ongoing harms. You lay upon our bed Saying I’m in your head You’re not what you say Words are games I don’t like to play No attention paid to the hell you raise I’m a deaf ear to all your false praise Your hands now reaching But there’s a lesson here, I’m teaching I’m not an object to hold To the touch more than my skin’s cold I linger silk fabric's length away Crazy I won’t take what I wanted all day I’m slow like honey Your hands won me Whispers in my ear have undone me Saying things will get better I’m drowning and your words keep getting wetter I can’t learn to swim I have to decide carefully against this whim Not with him
I’m beautiful flowers On branches he’d trim
I can’t go out on that limb © 2016 Jessica GillitzerAuthor's Note
