Tattooed!

I GOT INKED!!!

   

It started with reaching for the stars.

A simple gesture, pain a beautiful messenger.

Then he said he could cover some of my scars.

I didn't know what to say.

No one had ever talked to me this plain.

He addressed my weakness, my soft spot.

Scars from my meekness, they almost still feel hot.

He had already given me one star, then another.

He had his hands in places I reserve for a lover.

I cried as he began, I thought to myself "I should've ran!"

But this chair became quicksand.

He had designed for me, my picture worth a thousand words.

My pen's words turning into a million black birds.

Hours passed, many eyes my way were cast.

More tears, but I had already overcome my fears.

This was my spring, and of me a flower it would bring.

I came feeling pressured, forced, and subdued.

I just came for a small tattoo.

But I now leave with two, 

slightly out of view.

tats and words can be used by anyone, in some cases they are people who want to be that shinning star. but your work is honest an true, be proud of that.

I do like the poem..I love the feather and black birds.

The poem is held down to the event I think. When we describe real life our poems play out on earth (as opposed to ethereal poetry born in the realm of metaphor and spirit). With that said, we need to say things about our real life. Your poem describes your spring...a change in the life of a beautiful young poet woman. For that reason it is profound.

I love the art on both counts, the written and the drawn, especially your words "pain a beautiful messenger". I've always found the act of getting inked as a form of release, a kind of purification, like the constant sting clears and stills the head, and i think its that aspect that i keep getting work done for.

I could see that. i am already trying to decide on what next. But I find sometimes i get ahead of myself as having two tattoos kind of demonstrates. I don't even want to get into costs$$$$ owe!

As i left the tattoo studio after my first visit, a bikie told me that i had "been bitten by the bug"and that i would be back for more. I assured him i only wanted one, and would not be back. 24 tatts later sort of proves there may be something a little addictive about the whole process.......

It does, both in the moment and the fact I will always write my heart. the stars, i don't know about though.

Well, I agree. Stars..tend to be the standard fare. It's your way of dipping your toes into the pool. The other one is very nice and well done. Your skin creates a good contrast for it. Porcelain with black ink. Very good. First Tats? If so your going to want more. I have a few I did in high school then I got some done. Never ends.

I fear your right, cliff said I had the ink junkie eyes. I think he was trying to be nice about the fact I was crying for the first almost hour.

Sensitive areas. It's a good pain after it's all done you are a new person with fresh ink. Just keep it lotioned. There's some stuff called tat butter. Not sure if they had it at your shop but consider getting some. Keeps the ink happy.

The guy i went to said something about bag o bomb I think or a+d ointment. It was a good pain I felt like a butterfly. like I was new for being so vulnerable and willing to be hurt. kinda weird I think.

Not weird. Without being too technical, pain releases endorphins that make it feel good. That nails on the back feeling. Ya Bag o Bomb heard of it. Good stuff . So whats the next tat?
