Whisper PrayerA Poem by JessikaEndsleyThis is a personal poem but I think many can relate in some way.
A little girl once stood so strong
Against the world she fought their wrongs When so shaken she said her prayer A quiet whisper pierced the air Years go by as time unfolds That little girl's heart has gone cold She can't stand her own reflection She hates what she's become I may have fallen but I'll rise back up Against all odds, even through the hurt I may have fallen but I don't care I still have my air-piercing whisper prayer. A little girl once was but is no more She turned off the light and locked her door She was shaking as she said her prayer A quiet whisper pieced the air Tears fall down like rain She's giving into the pain She hates what she's become I may have fallen but I'll rise back up Against all odds, even through the hurt I may have fallen but I don't care I still have my air-piercing whisper prayer. © 2013 JessikaEndsley |
