Chapter 4A Chapter by JessI slowly opened my eyes to a blinding light. I groaned at picked up my pillow throwing it at the source of light, only to eventually figure out it was the sun blazing in through the window.
“Would you stop?” Kyle grunted I looked up from my phone, “Stop what?” I asked, confused. “You've been looking at your phone for the past hour.” he furrowed his eyebrows “Sorry,” I mumbled looking down at my phone once more. Sighing, I placed it down on the coffee table. I don't get it. The date went so well. He hasn't called, or texted me. I was becoming self conscious. Maybe I gained a few pounds, or maybe I was a bad kisser. I looked down at my stomach, scowling. “Are you okay?” Kyle asked like I was a crazy person and I was going to snap any moment. “Fine.” I murmured, getting up from my spot on the couch and trailing into the kitchen. I searched through the cabinets frantically, “No, no, no.” I shook my head “Kyle get in here!” I called I heard foot steps and squeaking sneakers before he was in front of me, “Yes?” he smiled I narrowed my eyes at him, “Where. Are. My. Cookies.” I said slowly, as if I were talking to a five year old. Guilt flashed through his eyes before he rubbed the back of his neck, “I don't know what you're talking about, Anna-boo.” “You-” I gulped keeping my cool, “You ate my cookies.” “I did no such thing!” he exclaimed, placing a hand over his heart in a mocking way. “I can't believe you!” I threw my hands up, grabbing my keys He just chuckled which caused me to flip around and give him a deathly glare, which shut him up. I tossed on my jacket and walked out of my apartment. As soon as I got outside, a huge rush of cold wind hit me causing me to shiver in response. I shrugged it off and hopped in my car.
I walked into the mall breathing in the smell of my favorite things" soft baked pretzels and moonlight path body lotion. I relaxed my shoulders in content and headed towards the food court where they sold my favorite girl scout cookies. I walked up to the counter and leaned on it, “What can I get you miss?” the young cashier asked, a scowl on her face as she chomped on her awful smelling watermelon gum. “2 boxes of mint chocolate cookies please.” I smiled completely ignoring her hideous attitude. “Anna?” I heard a voice call, I whipped around to meet the same bright sky blue eyes I had seen just a few days ago. And right there, my breath was knocked out of me.
