Black-Sheep

Black-Sheep

A Poem by Jezebel

Hey there, Black-sheep, I just love that dress.

Look at you, turning your nose up at me,

as though you couldn't need me less.

But I know you better than that, Black-sheep.

I remember those stormy nights, don't you?

When I would wake up to the subtle tickle

of a curly hair against my nose.

Hey there, Black-sheep, look how fast you've grown.

I've finally learned after all these years

that all you've ever asked of me

is not to leave you alone.

It's too late, but I wonder now,

Have I failed you, Black-sheep?

I'm in the process of revising this poem, so if anyone has any suggestions...It's about my sister, who's knickname is Blacksheep. I was told that it is too "cryptic", so like I said, any suggestions would be welcome!

I like the tone of this, it's edgy while being supportive.

I think Blacksheep is perfect, I wouldn't change a thing.
