Bridge Walker Part I: The arrival

Bridge Walker Part I: The arrival

A Poem by Jessi Leigh
"

coming into awareness

"

A vast ancient wooden bridge supports her feet

grounding her between two worlds

Why am I here?

The sun is weak

I'm cold and lonely

There are no people just voices,

voices of delicate resassurance

a gentle persuasion

going in all directions

I am confused

sadly blinded.

To the left

People - Visons of laughter and peace

To the right

                            People-Shades of dull and shadow

        My future                                           My past

The wood beneath me comes alive

Mother Earth begins to talk

You are a bridge walker now..

You have tasted your future and have lived through the experiences of your past

Let others taste too

Close your eyes...look into your heart

Now awaken and see with new eyes

There they are, the voices on the bridge!

People taking people to and fro

Some run, some fumble, others trip and tumble

as they are guided along the way

some turn and flee, they are not ready.

It's a simple enough job

Cross the bridge

What wonderful imagry and phraseology. The wordplay is exquisite and the theme facinating. Can't wait for the next part.

I love to speak my mind. My words are rough and pretty raw. I get overwhelmed by life pretty easily, but love to push myself and see just how much I can take in. I'm here to learn, to grow, to e.. more..
