Shame Blame Game

Shame Blame Game

A Poem by Jessi Leigh
"

On verbal and a touch of physical abuse

"
You only see anger and blame
Put her in a light of shame
Her anger pathetic
Impossible empathetic

She runs she escapes
To breathe to get some space
Your Guilt shame and blame

She's silly
stupid.
You're the one that's
sane

Behind closed doors when you're asleep -
Her body sighs,
her soul silently weeps.
Give in give up
Tell him to shut the f**k up

Your anger becomes her motivation
She climbs in your bed once more thinking it's the last occasion.

Next time he'll learn
he won't let me burn
He's good inside
It's all part of the rollercoaster ride

The theme of compromise in relationships has been a topic I have discussed on numerous occasions lately. But on the spectrum of this, in relationships there are even darker shades of gray and breaking points. The struggles of where those breaking points are can be a source of suffering and angst. I think this is the vantage point for this write. Its a strong write with quality, passion and depth.

Once an abuser , always an abuser and
it is done to the female. No one else is
abusing her, just the male. He should
usually be castrated. That would be the
only cure.
I know , this is about another person, a
friend. Well, tell the frriend to call the
POLICE, then run like hell.

Wow you really summed up how underling verbal and emotional abuse can be in this read. I like how you showed that it's a viscous cycle with the ending. Nice work.

I like your formatting on this piece, the rhymes were welly constructed and each line has a nice simplicity to it that escalates the feeling of the poem. Nicely done.

SpokenWord you are so right. Will write a revised version. I bore witness to another situation after writing this poem which demonstrated exactly what you have just said. Thank you for speaking your mind

I am always mindful of those who only paint a negative picture of someone especially someone they are in a relationship with. As it takes two to love it also takes two to fail at love. True words to scribe here of the blame game to paint one as totally innocent. Seen to often in relationships.

ahhhh; deflective expression of repression from the cores of depression - to reject others is to reject love in and mash that goodness of a person into weakness as a means to spread misery and control them...."he's good on the inside" right...i guess that's the way we justify staying.

and a crazy ride at that , human interaction mixing the neurochemistry set we call the brain , with sometimes explosive results ... those fleeting and intense sparkles and the smoke-filled illusion of love ...

I love to speak my mind. My words are rough and pretty raw. I get overwhelmed by life pretty easily, but love to push myself and see just how much I can take in. I'm here to learn, to grow, to e.. more..
