The Darkness

The Darkness

A Poem by Jessica Neves

We walk into the darkness,
Even when we see the light.
The confusion grows,
A little more each day,
Searching for that one star,
To lead the way.
The closer I get,
The more they fade.
You're left to rescue yourself.
The darkness confuses you,
And drains you more each day.
You're in so deep,
That finding that light,
Is now pointless.
The darkness,
Destroys you.

That's the kind of poetry I like. Dark but meaningful.
