Your FutureA Poem by JeshikaA older poem that I made about a year ago. It's basically about someone that is trying to tell a younger child about what is in store for him.Looking through my tired eyes, I see the world so clear. The heavy weight put upon our shoulders, struggling just to bear. Looking at your innocent eyes, naive and happily twinkling. I imagine your face as mine, in stressful thinking. I may still be young, but my heart is filled with fear. Somehow I wish you can stay five forever, blinded without a care. There may be a glimpse of light, down this dreadful highway of life. Will you be alone and cold, or joyfully driving by? If you give your heart and soul, you may reach your desired place. Shoulders higher than the sky, with your beaming face. Brighter than the moonlit stars, it cannot be replaced. The ocean will have gentle waves, restful and calmly blue. At last the struggles have left your mind, and my heart smiles for you. © 2012 JeshikaAuthor's Note
