Fallen

Fallen

A Poem by Jessica O.
"

This was written over a year ago about 9/11.

"
Midmorning in bustling streets,
Passengers, workers and students alike,
On their way with normal lives.
Last night's drama cannot compare
To what will eventually happen
Within minutes.
And then they fell down.

Was it a plot or just an accident,
Every citizen questioned
While staring at the gray-black sky
And the dust still attempting to settle
On the remains of what they used to be
Before they fell down.

A plot it was, therefore it would cause
The fear of all there is to come.
Will there be more days like this,
When we witness anymore important landmarks
Become the grounds of all the fallen
When they fall down?

Sorrow, grief, and vengeance still exist
Due to that dreadful, dreary day.
Some lost faith while others held on,
Knowing that He who watches over us all,
One who will never leave us,
Even when all fall down.

I'm Jess. I'm a college third-year (wow, time flies too fast around here!) who plays piano and a little bit of flute, and sings. I'm a poet, therefore I'm a songwriter. I read a lot, and I don't do.. more..
