Pain

Pain

A Poem by Jessica

Pain:

Pain is easy.

Ridding yourself of that pain,

Now that’s the hard part,

Everyday you try to smile,

Everyday you try to hide from the pain,

But at the end of the day it only returns,

It returns in tears,

It returns in silence,

And it returns when you’re alone and there is no one around to save you,

So you curl up by yourself and try not fall apart,

You cook,

You clean,

And You keep yourself busy,

So that you don’t feel the pain,

But the pain doesn’t go away,

It has buried itself into your very core,

It has negotiated it’s way into your heart,

So that everyday when you’re by yourself and no one is around to see,

You fall apart,

Now that is real pain.

Powerful. Sometimes ourselves are who we hide from and deceive the most, distract, distract, distract.
