My Heroine

My Heroine

A Poem by J Vanderford

Come here my darling
Let your tears soak the ground
And give life to the flowers and tress

Watch them grow to the sky
Let them shelter you and give you comfort
As the conopy rises and grows
You rise with it

Let the roots ground you
The flowers be your beauty and the wind birds be your song

Look now and see
Your tears are flowing like a river wash
Let the sadness go and breath in new life
Feel it
Now rest
For life is what you’ve given me
