Bearers of the Torch

Bearers of the Torch

A Poem by Jesse J Downey
"

As shadows live, and stars to weep. The sun will fade, and night will speak. As dark breaths life, and dawn thus dream. The moon will wake, and day will sleep.

"

As shadows live, and stars to weep.

The sun will fade, and night will speak.

As dark breaths life, and dawn thus dream.

The moon will wake, and day will sleep.

Eternal black, a great divide.

The void will reign, and hope will die.

Unending abyss, forever night.

As Shadows dance, the warmth will cry.

In times of dark, in times of war;

In times of death, in times of storm;

Forever defend the embers we bore;

Forever we serve, bearers of the torch.

I love the balance of words on each line (I'm not very good at critiquing literature), regardless I love this piece.
