Lady Arachne

Lady Arachne

A Poem by Jesscribbles
"

Caught

"
Her chemical antenna
draws them in

Drag line trap

You dance and strum
oh foolish one

Seduction
is a certainty
dark devious
 creature she
like the rose of thorns
bleeds them dry

Boastful face
of virtue bold
Curse
does the cursed
For betrayal
 is blood deep
in blue veins
 cold blooded one

Releasing her length
into the wind
A catch

She walks across
 the bridge created
and her auxiliary spiral
Smiling
as she works
on that web
of fine silk
Luring them in

Such a deadly thing

Pure darling droplets of dew
Sparkle

Oh elegant trap
of radius threads
and sticky beads

Her many eyes
watching
patiently
for you

Insect prey

That sensory seductress she
ensnares

vibrations
motion felt

The lady hunts
and kills

That fearsome predator
of cheliceral teeth

Darkness haunts those
caught
in her web
stuck forever within
until swinging fangs
suck

Struggle not nightmare
her sweet taste of venom
A paralysis
so you can lay, relax
wrapped in that same
delicate silk

Body and mind liquefied

Now dark blob
scurry away
shrivelled and shrunk, you
legged freak
hiding in the corner
creeping silent
weaving only webs and webs

Patterns of wonder!
