A simple viewA Poem by JesscribblesDriving along the Kimberley region, Western Australia, looking out the window at the native trees and reflecting on the past 7 months living in an Aborigine community.Soothed The long road By the sweet sound Of the violin The gentle roll Of the mountainous hills Vocalised Blue Dark blue Land joint to sky Like overlapping waves they roll The clouds Then a sudden yellow Bursts through Its colour piercing It climbs down down down The clouded stairs Layer by layer Until a fine golden line trails Coating around it's surroundings Rock The once red A deep blue Silhouetted So majestically! And the rich green grass Swaying in the breeze Soft Soft breeze So gentle The little strands dancing in union Along to the music They shimmer together Bowing down In awe At the GIANT Towering above Trees so proud Wise and old they point They spread their arms Their many fingers Twisting, turning Into every direction Each one, when close With a distinct marking A unique print That of a humans With its own individual tale A survivor over years years years Some hang their arms in despair Drooping down A last attempt To touch their beloved land They are tired So very tired of fighting for years years years Fighting for their rightful territory Their land that is overturned, taken GREED Their loved ones gone, lost DESTROYED Roots cling in desperation To the history of the Earth forgotten erased Understand Which we are still yet LEARN An important history one NEVER TO FORGET
