The Key

The Key

A Poem by Jess
"

I felt like sharing an old poem.

"

My heart is in a cage with bars, and bars, and more bars
No room to escape
I wish I had the courage to give you the key

My heart swells up like a balloon ready to burst
No home no foundation
Only a history of walls built, knocked down, built, knocked down

Still my heart dares
For high hopes to be answered
Instead it waits, waits in this cage with the door locked
Waiting, waiting, and waiting for the right person to take the key
Open the door and stay

About
I never know what to say when talking about myself, and will apologize as I tend to ramble. I find sharing my writing both terrifying and exhilarating. Writing for me is an outlet, always has been. W.. more..
