The Beast 

Oh animosity, is a ravenous beast, that will swallow you whole if you let it

Oh insecurity, is a fickle foe and it will dragged you down if you let it

Oh anxiety, is a dirty traitor and it will trick you if you let it

Stand up to the voice inside your head berating you  

Telling you nothing will ever change 

How will anything change

With expectations so low it’s hard to have high hopes

Stop trying to be someone else’s ideal version of you 

Disregard their callousness and don’t entertain their hostility for one minute

You have all the power when you realize you’re perfect just the way you are

Days rush by with ferocity

And you haven’t the audacity to make heads or tails

But with the right amount of time, you will find your fears subside
