A Simple Thank You

A Simple Thank You

A Poem by Jessalynn
"

This is a thank you to my husbands 1st wife. I don’t know her and have never met her. Their relationship did not end well but if it wasn’t for their experience together he wouldn’t love like he does.

"
Thank you for loving him
And thank you for not
For showing him what he likes
And what he does not

Thank you for the good times
That helped shape him as a man
And thank you for the hard times
So he could build himself again

Thank you for showing him
It’s ok to start over
Thank you for not pushing him
To cry on your shoulder

I thank you for letting him go
So he could leave and love again
But most of all I thank you
For once loving my Husband.

Goodness-ME, Jessalynn 🌺

It takes a strong woman, confident and assured in her own skin, to compose such a graciously insightful and grateful poem to someone once so deeply an intricate part of her husband's life, soul, and entire being.
One would wonder if you, indeed, shared these thoughts, feelings, and emotions with her … and, regardless the answer, you fully have my respectful awe for possessing the fortitude in character to post this eloquently rendered suite of Unmetered Rhyming Quatrains … perfect title, too.
One thing is obvious from this writing, besides the amazing pen you wield, is that your man must surely be a king among men for You to adore him the way(s) you do.

My hat's off to Jessalynn's very lucky hubby, and to her for finding such earthly bliss.
Wonderfully done, Dear Lady-Poet … big hug of thanks for sharing You! ⁓ Richard 🍃

(hint: crown this fine piece with some complementing artwork to please your readers' mind's-eye)
