Meth and it’s MuseA Poem by Jessa Leigh Hamilton
A muse,
Can confuse, The most stable heart. Attaching to it’s seems, Then unraveling them apart. Knitting it’s way back With mesmerizing lullabies. Because this deceitful muses lies Knows your life behind your eyes. And it can find a way to trick you Thinking that you know it’s true. But really it’s illusion, That it’s using against you. This muse is not a love But a demon in disguise. And it wants to take you over And it wants to make you cry. At first it will be gentle, And in all it’s subtle hints. You will doubt yourself, But then you’ll laugh, and see it’s all nonsense. If you can keep your footing, And stay true to who you are. Those slight feelings of unknowing, Will remind you that you’re smart. And with intelligence of the light. You’ll wipe the shadows with no fright, They’ll try to fight. They’ll try to bite. And try to tear you out of sight, But you have strength and will and might, And will not let a demon smite The name you made while growing right. So you detach, That muse can die. © 2022 Jessa Leigh Hamilton |
