Battle of Self

Battle of Self

A Poem by Jessa Leigh Hamilton

I've come to numb your pain away,
The pain you felt from yesterday.
You cried and screamed and fought for me,
But deep inside you hate the thought of me.
To promise a love that cannot be denied,
My dear, there is nothing but darkness inside.
I long for the day my sorrows forgotten,
And the truth from my lips, never mispoken.
She realizes that numbing the pain isnt key,
For the thoughts in her head need to be set free.
