Bliss

Bliss

A Poem by Jessa Leigh Hamilton

The lust of your certainty,
It makes me weak.
Although i know this feeling is nothing new,
I now crave his affection like my darkest addiction.
I have trained myself for this moment.
The moment i become vulnerable.
Why does everything i believe in seem so..
Unimportant at this time?
How does he manage to make me feel
So important, in such short time?
With a glance in my direction,
Out of the corner of my eye I am able to see the look on his face as he notices my happiness.
His face softens, yet hes still smiling right at me.
And he then looks at me with the admiration of someone whom has never seen such divine beauty before this exact moment,
With me..
And for the first time, I wonder whats really on his mind...
I breathe in.. and out.
Then my next thought, is that of the way he has shown me the meaning behind his creative and passionate thought process.
As every word that comes out of his mouth turns into a mezmorizing sentence of how exactly he has become the being he is today,
And as he tells me about some of the experiences he has gone through,
Carefully picking out what he seems to think is safe to share with me thus far,
I become intrigued as he continues on,
Sounding nothing less than poetic.
I try to distract myself from the erotic feelings that creep into my mind,
I cant help but imagine all the ways he might finally take control of me,
Just like he takes control of everything else in his life.
I become easily captivated into wanting to know every thought that runs through every corner of his jammed brain.
Simply because his mind has become more than just a place to think, or store thoughts,
And that is very clear to me.
He has a method of maddness in his head.
My dreamgazed eyes now begin to see him in a whole new light.
I see no huge faults that lie within this man who has,
Unintentially, yet extremely impressively,
Drawn me emotionally closer to him with each new topic of conversation,
Beginning with our very first one.
Never has anyone been able to create such an intense, spiritual connection with me in the past.
And he continues to leave me feeling like there is fire rushing through my veins.
For a brief moment i ask myself,
"Should i run?"
Knowing that i have already become so starstruck with his being,
And while in his presence,
Thinking about how, now,
Even the mere thought of him makes me smile,
And sometimes, i even miss him before i have time to forget what hes doing..
What happened to the control i usually have over my own feelings?
Because this is not what your head wants, dear.
But your heart..
My heart seems that it just cant help but to love and let love in.
