Death's Prayer

Death's Prayer

A Poem by That1Nerd23

This world has swallowed me from my birth

And now I see my time is gone

No longer do I need to mourn

For heaven’s bid me come

Death is not a torturous phase

It’s simply the end of life’s swift race

So cry if you must, but please don’t ponder

Remember me, remember us, and all life had to offer

Then when you live your final day

I’ll be waiting at heaven’s glorious gates

Waiting to greet you with open arms

So until then, enjoy life’s simple charms

Also remember that there’s only one way

One way to see me again some day

You must accept Jesus into your heart

And confess your sins and flee from the dark

This is the way which leads on high

For the LORD sees your tears he knows when you cry

So follow your heart

Come what may

But don’t do it for me

Don’t accept him in vain

Do it for His glory

Embrace his great name

Just as I am dead in the body

You are dead in the spirit

So remove all those ashes

And in Christ you will be alive

Boldness you shall strive

To seek till you arrive

This is one of your deepest poems I've ever read Jessa... God bless.

Yeah, I do not typically post poems that are not so merry.
