I Sink Into Oblivion

I Sink Into Oblivion

A Poem by That1Nerd23

You seem to think we are destined
Simply meant to fall in love
But what you do not know, my dear
This I tell you with fear

I just don't see us lasting long
We are too different, yet to in sync
I love you, yes, I certainly do
But still this love is nothing new

So afraid of wounding more of your heart
I try to sink into oblivion
Blinding myself from the reality
That loving you is against my morality

For God is my anchor and core
My everything in this life
His love is my abundance
All else becomes redundance

That's why I choose not to date
Or get wrapped up in another
A few I had fallen for before you
Yet even them I began to skew

I hope I do not hurt you
For so long I've tried to say
Friendship is my desire
Despite our Love's pure fire
