Dungeon Walls

Dungeon Walls

A Poem by That1Nerd23

For eighteen years I’ve been locked in this dungeon

I’ve been waiting to be brought back to life

I am blinded by the black walls that surround me

I am dressed in tears, mold, and a web of lies

“What do I do now?” whispers my soul

“How shall I ever escape?”

A tear rolls down and then I hear a sound

Here comes the one who pushed me away

“What have you done!?” screams a woman

“You wretched little beast!”

She walks my way and takes me by the hair

And everything fades so suddenly

Blurred sight, cold figure, darkness swallows me whole

Fainting heart, tattered faith, I have no more control

Twelve hours do pass and the woman is cheering

Perhaps she thinks I’m dead

When all at once my body is lifted

Yet my soul then rises instead

I’ve been set free by grace

No longer feeling dead

Jesus has taken my place

“Tis finished!” He said

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! I am so glad you like it. ((:
This is why I love literature. To some people, the Dungeon is a metaphor for inner struggle. To others it could merely be a captive waiting to be freed by a "knight in shining armor". Although the meaning is the same, it is depicted differently within the mind's eye of the reader.

Oh, wow. The first part reminded me of a movie I once saw... What was it? I think it had something to do with Snow White, or maybe Sleeping Beauty...

Anyway, this poem is amazing, astounding, marvelous! (I've been working on my adjectives (: ) I love it! There is always hope in God the Father! No matter how grim your life is on earth, you will always have the chance to live a more fulfilled eternal life with your rightful Daddy. Jesus died so that that could happen, for God so loved the world.

Such is the way of life... 100/100!!!
