Dungeon WallsA Poem by That1Nerd23For eighteen
years I’ve been locked in this dungeon I’ve been waiting to be brought back to life I am blinded by the black walls that surround me I am dressed in tears, mold, and a web of lies
“What do I
do now?” whispers my soul “How shall I
ever escape?” A tear rolls
down and then I hear a sound
Here comes
the one who pushed me away
“What have
you done!?” screams a woman “You
wretched little beast!” She walks my
way and takes me by the hair And everything fades so suddenly Blurred
sight, cold figure, darkness swallows me whole Fainting heart,
tattered faith, I have no more control Twelve hours
do pass and the woman is cheering Perhaps she
thinks I’m dead When all at once my body is lifted Yet my soul then rises instead I’ve been set free by grace No longer
feeling dead Jesus has
taken my place “Tis
finished!” He said © 2012 That1Nerd23Author's Note
