Drifting LeavesA Poem by That1Nerd23Drifting leaves tumble to the ground They fall ever so calmly They do not make a sound And all at once they are hugged by wind They rise up and dance They then are pinned So they make the most of their new home They try to remember When, before, they'd roam And such thoughts give them comfort For they once were free Watchful and alert Now they are just captives of age With withering leaves Bound in a cage They look to the humans and surely grieve For our lives continue And after 90 we leave © 2012 That1Nerd23Author's Note
