TAKE A STAND

You say forget Republicans

Let’s just put up a great fight

For Romney and Ryan

Obama and Joe Biden 

Cast out lies that just aren’t right

 

But take a look now

Say hello to the big picture

It’s not about their propriety

It’s about modern day society

 

We the people need to make a stand

And stop our political stew 

It’s time WE make a change

Just look what WE can do

 

We have an opportunity

To end the battle that they force

This nation needs unfailing love

Not new rules our leaders endorse

 

So I offer a new perspective

One where divisions gotta go

Only one way it’ll be effective

Is when we cast your vote

 

You forget about the titles

You’ve gotta hope and pray

That whoever gets elected

 

Will be touched by God’s hand

Because the only way we’ll find peace

Is if this nation takes a stand

Taking a stand for the right cause is what liberty is truly about. Yet more work on the inside of the government is what needs to truly take place. Our votes are a very small part to fixing a huge problem that's been going on for years. You've conveyed the right message for progression here though. Great job with the red, white, and blue lettering. It adds a patriotic touch to your poem. :)

Yes, I understand. It's sad really. It raises the question, "Should we vote at all?" and I think we still should but there seems so little hope. But I am trying to think of it in terms of our strength if only we would work together, one day maybe things will improve, I'd like to think so. And thank you! (:
