This is a poem about a childhood friend. (:

Dear Jen, I just wanted to let you know

That this new you is beginning to glow

I respect the woman you have become

And admired the past you’ve overcome

 

I know in the past we experienced hate

But all in all our time together was great

And even though for years we’ve been apart

We can mend the broken pieces and restart

 

Building again our friendship, if you please

We can hangout more and talk about things

You can come to me anytime and I’ll listen

You can tell me anything and I won’t be dissin’

 

I just want you to know that I respect you

So don’t get down on other peoples thoughts

This is your life and there will only be a few

Who will be able to see you the way that I do
