Pity

Pity

A Poem by That1Nerd23

Hope was fading ever so fast

You could see the dismay in her eyes

She feared her future, resented her past

And her heart began to wallow in lies

Therefore, new lots she then did cast

What empathy can cover such pity

What love can soften and end her cries

What home in this miserable city

Can silence her endless sighs

And among this large committee

Who will gracefully help her rise

When she received so little pity

She began to pass out  goodbyes

This is so sad.. But beautiful nonetheless. It has true, deep, somewhat dark emotion. Great job.

I really like this. I especially love how you ended it! And I like the line "What love can soften and end her cries". Great piece.

Thank you so much. I am flattered that you like it. ((:
When you continually feel sorry for yourself the world is going to become more and more immune to the drama. Nicely worded poem.
