The Man on the Train

The Man on the Train

A Poem by That1Nerd23

I see a man six feet tall

Dark skin and greying hair

He has little strength, if at all

I see hurt behind his stare

There is no joy and much discomfort

Written on his ageing face

You can see the hard work and effort

By his persuasive grace

But he’s running, yes, he’s fleeing

There’s no more looking back

He’s tired and can’t stand seeing

The strength and boldness he lacked

And now he sits here waiting

Across from me on this train

He says not a word, he’s not complaining

But inside he’s going insane

So he lives in fear of the past recreating

Yet lives also in fear of change

He sits broken from the mess he’s making

His problems simply rearrange

Thank you!!
It's amazing how some people can put on a strong face for the world to see, but inside they are slowly or quickly falling apart. Sometimes you can see through people like air and it's hard to tell them everything's okay if you feel they'll deny what you're talking about. Fear drives all of us, that's what I believe. In the end, we are all running or wanting to run from something in this world. But no matter what we face in life, there is always a high road we can take...even if we don't believe it. We just needa find the motivation and inner strength in order to bring ourselves up and over our tough times.

Wow, this is really good, looking deeper into the others around us. Everyone has a story, even those seemingly random people we see on the train. Good job and keep writing! 100/100
