Little MaskA Poem by That1Nerd23L i t t l e * M a s k s Little mask, Where have you been? I’ve searched and searched And now have lived. You used to cover my heart and face, But now I see, you’re just a disgrace. Little mask, You used to make me cry Made me feel bad, I wanted to die! You used to tell me that I was out of place. Little mask, you were such a disgrace! Little mask, Where are you now? Resting upon another clown? You covered me with makeup; You made me frown. Little mask, where are you now? Little mask, Covered in red. Bright crimson feathers; Like the hair on my head. You told me I was ugly, This I knew you meant. Little mask, oh little mask! I know just what you leant! You leant me hidden secrets, You leant me many lies! You leant me broken promises, You made me compromise! And now, I send this message, To lavish on you hate! Yet, tell you that I’m thankful, For the person you didn’t create! You didn’t create me, Mask; You just embellished my face. Oh, Little Mask, You’re running and aren’t chased. Do you know what that tells me? It tells me that you’re fake! So I’m done wearing you around; I’m casting you in the lake! I don’t want to hear from you another sound! Your identity I won’t take! © 2012 That1Nerd23Reviews
