The Man On the BenchA Poem by That1Nerd23One day in the park,
I observed a man lying on a bench He had no home, no
place for shelter, only a dreadful stench My heart was hurting
for this man, his forlorn state made me cry He looked up at me
and I saw a tear in his eye “Miss,” he said with
a weary voice “Yes, sir?” I replied “You are beautiful,
and you are enough,” “Thank you, and
enough for what” “You are enough to be
alive.” My tears began to
pour out like rain How kind he was, how
this man survived He never gave up, he
ran with all his might Toward the road of
happiness Toward the Gates on
high I thought I had
everything when I saw him But found out my
hopeless state This man, homeless
and poor, had life and saving grace He lived only one
more day then saw God's face © 2012 That1Nerd23Reviews
