You Are Beautiful

People may tell you that because you’re not thin

You are ugly and worthless, they don’t see within

They don’t see your beauty, the hurt behind the mask

All they see is failures and mistakes from the past

 

They don’t try to comfort you, instead they tear you down

But what kind of friend is that if they push you to the ground

Listen… please listen, to what I have to say

You’re beautiful, dear, yesterday and today

 

Forever and always your beauty will shine

Whether they choose to see it or not is fine

Because their opinions don’t matter as much as His

You have a heavenly Father who has so many kids

 

But yet He chose to see you, yes, even single you out

He looks at each one of us like we’re the only ones around

And though life may be difficult, though you may be stained

You must remember that through God’s grace, He can wash your sin away

i was just thinking about the place where my brother used to volunteer at. and my mom will tell how our aunt is too self conscious about her weight and looks my brother says she should volunteer at the convent and just help out. its a change of pace of being around people who dont care about worldly looks. same at my dad's job. i show up sometimes with tattoos showing on my arms.....they dont care about that either lol
