Your Mind

Your mind has been given to you as a gift

It shouldn’t be easy to understand

For if you’re actively seeking more knowledge

It will swell up and never be closed again

 

It’s given and with it come discernment

But how often do we really flee

From little worries and constant complaints

Of how things can and really should be

 

We need to remember that we only live once

There is very little time to not pick, we must chose

Otherwise we’ll be tossed like a boat on the sea

During a hurricane of doubt of seen and  unseen

 

We have to be open to all that may come

We have to be willing to reach for not all but some

Opinions of others and scientist’s proof

But never grasp hold if all believe but you

 

Life is what you make and I make mine a journey

It’s not about becoming president or attorney

It’s simply a path we all must take

A path with good and evil

 

And it’s not until we embrace the change

That we truly begin to see

Until that point we’re blind to all

And oblivious to who we could be
