Suitcase

Suitcase

A Poem by That1Nerd23

I hold in my hand a suitcase, in it dwells my heart

I carry it around every where I go, never shall it depart

I journey through the darkness and wake up to the light

And suddenly to my astonishment, there appears something bright

A heart that isn’t hidden nor locked away for keeps

It simply shines bright, for lost people, such as me

I didn’t know what road to take until I saw this heart

And my suitcase just began to break and fall apart

My eyes simply stopped and stared and gazed upon the sight

Of this beautiful soul that I knew was Mr. Right

And from that moment our worlds collided and I began to weep

Because of my utter joy that he was willing to love me for me

My suitcase flew open and without a doubt

I was the locket and he was the key

And sooner than later our fondness grew

And we were one and no longer two

I was blinded by heartache but now I see

He was all I ever wanted to be

I knew I’d be happy for eternity

As long as he forever stayed by me
