Before we met I didn’t know what love was

All through my life people claimed it but didn’t display it

So I thought it must not exist as I heard about it in fairytales

 

But then one day I met you

And my heart began to skip a beat

It was as if I was complete

 

I know we haven’t known each other very long

But it feels like forever, like you’ve been gone

But now you’re here and my feelings are leaving me in fear

 

I am afraid to lose you

Afraid you’ll find someone better

It’s silly, I know, but it’s true

 

There’s just something about you

You make me want to dream

Shoot for the stars and make a wish

 

You make me want to go out in the rain

Take your hand and dance the night away

Anything to be close to you

 

Anything to see you smile

One day, I pray, we’ll be together

One day soon or far away

 

I’ll be patient, my love

Patient for you, patient for us

i like this poem. if reminds me of when i found out what love was to me. afraid, but willing to go to any length or any extent to make it work, to make it happen and make them happy. very good writing keep it up and keep this feeling close.
