Unexpected Shock

Unexpected Shock

A Poem by That1Nerd23

Life sweeps by us like an unprocessed thought

It sneaks into an unexpected shock

Leaving us shattered and bewildered

We wonder if what we have someday we will lose

Then tragedy shakes our heart like an avalanche of pain

We crumble like a mountain with no bottom

We tumble recklessly to ground

And when we look up, there’s no one to be found

Such is life… I suppose tis’ true

But life seems never to show us what to do

That’s when Jesus took my pain

He carried it on a cross full of shame

He was beaten with piercing objects

His blood crashed upon the dirt beneath Him

His skin tore on His back

And then they pushed Him to the ground

They nailed Him to a rugged cross

Piercing His hands and feet

And on His head they slammed a crown of thorns

His blood ran down His weary face

Surely He could have demolished all men

But He paid the fee for the human race

His blood was a symbol of His love and grace

And it was all for you

Your sins, to save you, He chose to embrace

Very cathartic. I though the imagery was well-done.
